1	INTRODUCTION Introduction to course content, course materials, the Language Centre resources and the building. Getting to know each other, finding out what people are hoping to gain from the course. “Then and Now”.	Participants (begin to) gain confidence speaking one-to-one, in small groups and in plenum. Participants can describe how things used to be in the past, and how they are now.
2	Homework/Review/Revision NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT Talking about Weather & Landscape	Participants can describe the weather of the past week and make a weather forecast. Participants can describe different landscapes and outdoor activities.
3	Homework/Review/Revision THE GEOGRAPHY OF GERMANY “Landeskunde”	Participants know more about different regions of Germany and make a Quiz Participants write a portrait of their own home region.
4	Homework/Review/Revision WASTE AND THE ENVIRONMENT Discussing possible solutions to waste/rubbish problem. Listening and summing up other people’s stance on recycling	Participants collect and structure lists, find pros and cons, and voice their own opinions – they prepare for and participate in a 5 min. moderated group discussion about recycling in Aberdeen. Participants can understand and relay to the group what has been said by other people about recycling.
5	REVISION OF CHAPTER 6: Vocab/Grammar Quiz	Participants consolidate the grammar points that have been covered: Relative Pronouns, Relative Sentences. Participants can use the new vocabulary during a range of activities
6	Homework/Review/Revision GOING ABROAD Planning a holiday	Participants can make a holiday packing list. Participants can make a pre-holiday to-do list and discuss and agree task distribution.
